User Interface

Co-Jacket’s main screen looks like the one shown below.  The screen is divided into several functional areas that provide various features depending on the ‘mode’ in which Co-Jacket is running.

Co-Jacket can operate in one of four modes depending on the needs and permissions of each user:

  • Search Mode - Search mode is Co-Jacket’s default and primary operating mode.  In search mode the operator can select a folder, search the folder, add documents to a folder, open a document , edit a document and delete a document.  You have access to all other modes from Search mode.

  • Add Mode - Add mode provides the ability to add documents to any sub-folder that has been enabled in the current folder.  All other Modes are disabled until Add mode has been closed.

  • Edit Mode - Edit mode provides the ability to make changes to an open document.  Edit mode is not available unless a document is open.  Changes can be made to a document’s metadata, and associated notes.  Pages can be added, removed or modified.  Annotations can be made to image pages of a document. The document can be saved to a different sub-folder within the same folder.

  • Administrator Mode - Administrator mode provides the ability to create folder definitions, modify existing definitions and delete definitions.  Sub-folders, which are actually a core element of the IFS repository, must be created in Co-Tools, an IFS administration tool.  There are two variations of the Administrator Mode:  System Administrator, and Folder Administrator.  Certain administrative functions that affect all users are restricted to the System Administrator, or Master, mode.

Depending on which mode is active, Co-Jacket’s visible control ‘panes’ will provide different active menu items and controls.

Document Distribution

Co-Jacket provides a rich assortment of document distribution tools.  Documents can be distributed in the following ways:

  • Email
  • Fax
  • Print
  • Routed according to user-defined rules.

 Print/Fax/Email

The Print/Fax/Email tool is an extremely powerful method of distributing documents via standard output streams.  When you click the tool, you are presented with the Print Dialog which is shown below.  The first time you use the print dialog you should select default print and fax devices.

If there are routing destinations defined for this folder, the routing slip window will be displayed:
